high functioning autism is typically also called asperger's or asperger's syndrome. Although it is an autism spectrum disorder, those with high functioning autism typically function in society. Most of them have jobs which put their outstanding skills in math, music or need to be repetitive to good use. They like doing repetitive and tedious jobs that others may not enjoy. Many are computer programmers.
