Stories of Recovery!  Researchers are hoping to find a set of genes responsible for autism soon.  If found, these genes could provide a key to a cure for all autistic individuals!

So far, the autistic people that have been recovered are children that were diagnosed very early and put into intensive behavior programs.  Even if your child or loved one does not recover, they can be helped significantly by behavior programs.  Here are some great books that give us hope!!!

Let Me Hear Your Voice, by Catherine Maurice.
Unraveling the Mystery of Autism and Pervasive Development Disorder:  A Mother’s Story of Research & Recovery, by Karyn Seroussi, Simon & Schuster, 2000, ISBN 0-684-883164-3

Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD, by William Shaw, Ph.D., Published by Dr. Shaw, 1998, ISBN 0-9661238-0-8, Great Plains Laboratory.
