cognitive
behavioral therapy and children makes use of techniques and
methods that help children with their learning capabilities as
well as their environmental behaviors.
That is, identifying images and sounds may mean using a
repetition technique such as flashcards to help the child learn
an image or sound. Moreover,
by using images in different formats such as placing the image
of a hat on one’s head or a hat on a chair or a hat on a
stairway gives the child opportunities for seeing the same image
in realistic situations. With
better understanding of one’s surroundings, behavior can
change toward the "confidence of knowing" rather than
the "fear of not knowing" about all the things the
senses pick up in one’s “world.”
