cognitive behavioral therapy psychology

cognitive behavioral therapy psychology are related in the sense that a certified psychologist may use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a possible treatment for a patient.  While psychology is broadly understood to mean the study of the mind, CBT is a more specific part of psychology that incorporates thinking, feelings and behavior, for a more rounded approach for a cure.

“A Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapy based on modifying cognitions, assumptions, beliefs and behaviors, with the aim of influencing disturbed emotions…CBT is commonly based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion and affect), and how we act (behavior) all interact and go together.” - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive-behavioral_therapy.
