learning
basic skills using aba may direct you to various methods to
improve your child or student's skills. Because ABA covers
a wide range of behavioral modifying techniques, one constant is
the use of repetition, reward and the need for simplifying each
skill that needs to be learned.
For example,
for a child to learn colors, it is helpful to place all those
colors in the same shape. That is, to learn red, blue,
yellow and black, all those shapes must be presented in the
shape of a square, for example, so that the child can focus on
the colors and not the shapes.
To learn
different shapes such as square, rectangle, triangle, and
circle, all those shapes must be presented in only one color
such as red.
Another
helpful technique is the repetitive use of flashcards.
