By using the five senses to stimulate them and by using
experiences that invoke the learning of these five senses,
sensory processing and experiential learning can best be
achieved by the combination of both.
Children have available to them many toys that integrate
sensory processing. Also,
their learning is increased as they figure out how the toys work
or what the toys do or accomplish.
Being able to process the five senses as well as learning
through experience are valuable tools for stimulating any
disability.
One toy that integrates the senses as
well experience motion and balance includes the activity of
swinging. For something so simple, swinging incorporates
the five senses, and not only that, the added bonus promotes the
sheer enjoyment that swinging gives.
