What are
sensory swings? They may also be called therapy swings.
Sensory swings help the child integrate his or her sensory
skills that include visual, audio, touch, hearing, smell,
balance, and motion. Because these swings promote the
increase awareness of one's senses, they may also be referred to
as therapy swings.
What
makes them different from playground swings? First, they
are made of fabric, wood, metal and are shaped
differently. For example, one does not see the fabric
"taco-shaped" swing in playgrounds. That is,
this swing is not in the standard playset at the city park.
Remember how
much fun it was when you used to swing at the city park or your
playset in the backyard?
Give your
child the same hours of fun with sensory swings today!
There
are many other styles of sensory swings here.
