swing sets + autism

The benefits of swing sets + autism involves the fact that swinging can be a calming effect on autistic individuals.  There are exceptions.  However, swinging can be a fun way to enjoy being at the playground at school or at home when a sensory swing set for children with autism is included.  For example, see picture below:

Moreover, swinging is beneficial for sensory integration.  Touch, motion, balance, the use of muscles, ligaments and joints are all integrated to help the autistic individual integrate these senses for better sensory awareness.
