Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a tube-like chamber designed to increase the amount of oxygen in a person’s body. It has been around for several years. Divers use it to get used to pressure changes. This therapy is also used for healing wounds where there is damage to vessels from diabetes, peripheral vascular disease or radiation therapy. The chamber can also be used when someone has been exposed to carbon monoxide. Hyperbaric Oxygen for Autism may also be another, safer way of ridding children of mercury and other harmful contaminants believed to either cause or trigger autism. The down side of the therapy is that it takes about two and one half-hour treatments five days a week for four to five weeks. You can watch television while in the tube and there is also a telephone.  Hopefully, more research will be done soon.
